3 things you can do TODAY to change your life

3 things you can do TODAY to change your life

  1. Be intentional with your time. Have a set routine for your bedtime and wake up time and stick with it. Notice times that tend to suck up your time such as scrolling on your phone or watching just one more episode of your tv show. If you don’t have limits or boundaries for your time, you will likely begin to find it disappears unintentionally. Set yourself up for success by making reminders such as on your phone or a sticky note to make sure you can remain conscious of how and where you spend your time.

  2. Turn off your damn notifications. People are usually unaware of what input they are allowing to stream into their lives without acknowledging the potential damage it causes. I understand that sometimes the alerts and notifications are needed, but really evaluate how important most are, and make it a goal to eliminate 90% of what you are receiving. If you feel it is too difficult to go without being immediately alerted when someone, ANYONE, texts or calls you, then this is probably a sign that you need to work on your boundaries with yourself and others.

  3. Pay it forward once a day. This can be small, like checking in on a friend who you have not heard from in a while to let them know you were thinking of them. It could be sharing a compliment with someone, or opening a door for someone in a public space. Doing just one small act of kindness a day can make an improvement in your mood and experience micro connections with others.
